Renting in Japan, in plain English
Renting in Japan can be difficult to research when you do not read Japanese fluently. A listing may use room-layout codes, fee names and contract terms that do not have a direct English equivalent. The information you need may also be spread across several sections of the page, or depend on a local rule that is not obvious from the listing.
Smoovin explains those terms and processes in plain English so you know what to look for and what to ask. These articles give general guidance; they do not replace the listing, the agent's explanation or your local government's instructions.
